Royal Amethysts and Stones

I feel like I am cheating when I enjoy making something so much. These two necklaces were fun to create because the are similar but one is done in all black accents and the other is done in golden amber's with pearlized cut beads in between. They are both approximately 20 inches long and set on the neck so softly. Don't you love the filigree metal piece/findings that hold the stone?
This "Royal Amethyst Collar" was very time consuming but I love the feminine look. It really sparkles when the light hits it. It is done in purples, lavenders, and a touch of light golden lilac. I had purchased the drops quite a long time ago and just had not found the right pieces to grace their beauty. As I was sorting through all of my treasures I thought they "may" match! They match perfectly and complete the dainty look.

I don't know why but I have been beading up a storm!

This is the most expensive piece that I have in my inventory. I just finished the braided Spiral necklace for it. I have had this 13karat stone for 18-20 years. It is beautifully encased by a sturdy solid Sterling Silver with a wide bale. The stone was $350.00 when I bought it and I have never worn it. It just needed the extra spark and pizazz that the rope has given it. Notice the closure is a peyote stitch around the ropes and has an "S" hook to complete the whole piece. I have come down on the stone but it is well worth the price! (Inside the bale it tells you the size and weight.)

I have made another "Fringed Caged Bead" necklace. There is a hold on the other one I had recently made so I wanted one of my own. This necklace takes hours and hours of work but it is soooo well worth the effort. I made this one with smaller beads and not so much bling. What do you think? Go back on my other older blogs (or look on the "favorites" to the right ) and you will see the difference between them. I think I would like to try this in blues next time.

This bracelet is called the "Flat Cellini " and it is designed by a great bead shop called "On the Rocks". It is just down the road from me and my hubby is sorry that it is so close. I wanted to show you how it "bumps" up and makes it 3 dimensional. The colors are a rusted copper with a silver bling. I really liked making this one and it was relatively easy for me. This pattern is a keeper and I will make it again and again out of different colors to show you how the color and size of beads changes the pattern dramatically.
I am doing this blog in sections because I do not know how to arrange the pics with the wording, but I am learning, so please bare with me. This "Crystal Road" pattern is designed by my wonderful instructor& friend, BJ Kahn, but I added alot to it and it is much wider than hers. I off set the one band from the other so that I could put a button on each half and it crosses over itself to close. I think it is one of the most comfortable bracelets I have ever made. The buttons are antique because they go perfectly with this blue on blue sparkle piece!

A Quiet Night by the Fire

My girls had the best time watching the fire roar! Melissa was not satisfied until they went home and brought over marsh mellows. How wonderful! She is such a good mommy. (I miss those days with my little ones.) I got out the hot chocolate mix and they had such a wonderful time, just being silly. The marsh mellows were not the large puffy ones but little baby ones but that did not stop them at all. They got a skewer and piled on five or so marsh mellows and they were wonderful. Kinda crisp, but very very tasty. Then on Saturday night the girls came over while Momma and Daddy went on a date and spent the night. My hubby had the fire roaring by then and pumped up the air mattress and the girls were so happy. They actually fell asleep early watching the fire burn down. I love family! Especially mine!

Jewels in Design

I have started putting some prices on my pieces, at the request of some others.
I just love the picture of this little girl. Isn't she precious? I have two bracelets here that I also adore. The flat peyote is made with four sparkly triangles woven into the center and the band that is holding this all is an iridescent deeper color. The Wooly Worm is made the same way except I turned a copper colored bugle on end and put several other colors in a shorter bead to give this piece depth.
I love this rope with Swarvoski crystal pendant. (I also made a bracelet to match) When I got this done I said to myself that I would never make a rope again. It takes me about an hour per inch and this one is 26" long!

These two chokers are very comfortable to wear. One is made with pink iridescent bugles and the other one is made with a matt finish multi colored green & sage. They kind of look like they are Indian in style and the design is so lovely on the neck.
I guess this blog is a review of 2008 projects. I hope you will enjoy seeing some of the work again.

Bits and Pieces

My very favorite bracelet is this Swarovski Star bracelet. I also have it in colbalt blue and the reverse is the iredescent opal colored crystal. I will make this one in any colors that you might choose.

The Pink on pink design was so much fun to finish! I made the earrings to match the set. They are hung on Sterling silver hoop. This set sparkles and shines like no other piece I have ever made. The center ravoli is so gorgeous with the Swarvoski 4 mil surrounding it so beautifully.
I wanted you to take a second look at these bugle lariats. I have reduced the prices on them also!!

Variety of jewelry that is available

Here are just a few of the things that I have in my inventory. IF you are interested in any piece, I will hold it for you or make it in the colors of your choice. From time to time I will show you different projects and hope that you will comment on them, one way or another.

Spring is truely "around the corner"

I looked out my window and this is what I saw! I do believe that the miracles of spring are just around the corner. I had a marble word "HOPE" on the window ledge and I went to see the tree and the "H" fell down to the floor and broke! I thought that is just about the way things are going in my life. Have I lost my hope? Then I saw this beautiful tree that reminded me that life is truly a beautiful thing! I had to pray and ask the Lord to forgive me for letting "life" bog me down. I have been away from blogging for several days! I have been to the doctor, then to out patient for Mammogram and Ultra sound. I have two lumps but the radiologist thinks they are not anything to worry about. I thank each one of you for your much needed prayers. With Don going in for his eye surgery in March and then my problems, for some reason it was just more than I could cope with. I felt your prayers and love and I again want you to know how much they were appreciated! I did not know that I was so concerned until I got out of the office and I was emotionally a wreck.
Well, during this time I had tried to bead just to get my head on straight and I started five different projects and this bracelet is the ONLY thing I have been able to finish. (I hate undone projects so I am "working" to get some of them finished) It is not fun when one has to work at what they love. This bracelet was a new pattern that I had not tried before but Melissa had made it from the pattern. It turned out so beautifully! I had already had the band done so I took the pattern and adapted it onto the already made peyote band. It has lots of twists and turns and I love the look of spring. It makes me smile.

The weather here is VERY cold (18-28 degrees at night) so anything that is spring-ish I am gravitating to for now. The daffodils are up but not in bloom yet. I had gotten several dozen amaryllis given to me by my next door neighbor and I have six of those in pots upstairs and they are ready to burst. I gave the rest of them to the visitors at our church. How I love spring!!! Don't you? Everything has such new life and energy. We tried to start a fire in the fireplace but the logs had set in the woods in a stack for 12 years and I think it is petrified. It does not burn well and gives off very little heat. (Don had taken out all of the gas logs because they are soooo expensive.) I wish we had kept the huge piles of wood we burned last fall. Hind sight is 20/20.

Marys Earrings have been found! (Replacements)

Isn't this cameo pretty? It is blue and white with a gorgeous silver frame. The leaf pin is so vintage looking and I like it just the way it is but it would be so lovely as the center piece of a peyote bracelet. I plan on making the bar pin into a center piece for a bracelet but I am actually thinking of making it into a drop necklace with soft pearls and beads as a chain. I love taking old things and making them into new pieces updated and fresh.
This is an earring to replace the one's I made for my sister this summer. She lost one of her earrings, twice, so I am trying to make something like them. I hope they will be close enough. They are both made with swarovski crystals and clear crystals that belonged to our Mom. I also wanted to show you some of the jewelry that my daughter gave me. I am planning on making them into bracelets so this is a blog of my musings.

I haven't gotten too many projects completed. I just can't keep my mind focused on things I need to do. But Melissa introduced me to this pattern and I made it up last night. As many of you know, I do not sleep well so when I looked at the clock and it said 5:24AM I decided to stop for the night. I really like the way the size 11 beads cross over to the back then on to the front. I used 35 emerald green Czech glass for the center piece. The background is with a silver lined peach size 8 bead. I closed the band with an antique hook.
I went in for a mamogram and am set up for Jan. 14th at 12:00 to get that plus an catscan and maybe a biopsy. So please keep me in your prayers. Then the yesterday Don went in to a surgeon to get the cateracts removed and he is set up for March to do the first eye. It will cost us out of pocket over $1,000 per eye. Oh, my not a good way to start the new year, is it? The scripture clearly states that the Lord will supply all of our needs and I am claiming that for our home.
