Cora Harkins http://digitaltwotuesdays.blogspot.com/igitaltwotuesdays.blogspot.com/.
asked me to host the Digital Two Tuesday post by making up a design from this line drawing. I have never done anything like hosting in blogland before so please bare with me while I learn something new.
I flipped the car horizontally so that it was facing out then made it into a stamp. I removed the RENAULT sign. Using a line art of one of Cora's other graphics I then added a gradient color with my magic brush to add a little color. I had gotten the "Reach High" word art from DigiFree freebies but failed to mark who had created this. (If you know who designed it, please let me know so that I can give them credit for all their work!) Please right click on the cards to enlarge them for a closer view. Nouveau art is lovely but I had never worked with it before. I like a challenge and yet I could not come up with anything that looked good. I like Victorian/Vintage fru-fru and found it difficult to get away from that.
So I began to look around at other designers work to see if I could get any inspirations. Sure enough, I found Jak Heath http://crafterskitchen.blogspot.com/ designs were just exactly what I was looking for. She had made a lovely red and black card with line art. (Be sure to go to her posts to see her lovely designs.) I wrote to her and she graciously agreed to allow me to use her "concept" to create this card. She makes such lovely things that I felt honored to use this beautiful design. The orange ribbon was way to bright for my taste so I used a stamp & pad to reduce the brightness then I bunched up the ribbon at the top on a two way tape. I added an orange daisy at the bottom and topped it off with a vintage button.
You MUST see Betty's ----LIGHT OF OUR YOUTH !!! http://blossomsandlace-betty.blogspot.com/ Her concept of this Renault is spectacular!!! I love the lovely ladies that she put in the headlights. Who would have thought to do that except a true artist? It must have taken her hours to create this beauty. Great job, Betty!!!
I hope that you will go to see others who have posted this same design from Digital Two Tuesdays graphics. I must go now and check them out for myself.
P.S. By the way, I am doing MUCH better this week & I do sincerely appreciate all of your sweet comments & expressions of concern. We all have an "off" week & mine was drawn for last week but I look forward to a better week for myself & for you! Thank you!!! Sharon

Hi Sharon... Glad this week seems to be better for you... I am struggling a bit... I don't do well with heat... I am out of the garden for today.... We have really enjoyed the veggies and the BLT sandwiches as of late... I know I am fortunate... just to have a large amount of food is a true bleesing especially when we think of the alternative.. Have a great week... Make up for last week....
Well, well .well.., bless my soul!
I loved your pices about drama #1,2,3,etc. I literally, laughed, gasped, inhaled tentatively, exhalled gleefully and cried, all in the succession of the few moments that it took to read your blog entry!-- Whew1.., what a time, yet what a tonic!-- Life has been excruciating lately for me, but the Lord has been even more so gracious, with his blessings and guardian angels in my life as well! Keep up the good work, and God Bless you!
Hi Sharon!!
Gads it sounds like this week is starting off a bit better then last week!!
Thank you so much for stopping by!! Oh and you are so right the postal issues are a small price to pay for living my dream!! It's not all dismal, we can get all our magazines and books sent down. They come by a courier 3 times a week and mags and books are duty free!! :) There are just somethings that even in paradise one must have!!
Your jewelry is sooo amazing!! I have always admired artists who are so gifted working with the smallest of beads!!!
Stop by again I know I'll be back to share a cup of tea with you :)

Sharon,
I love what you created! I am so impressed with what you can do with a computer:). I am somewhat technologically impaired so I enjoy seeing others do such wonderful things on their computers!
Blessings,
Kim
Sharon I am so glad you stopped by to see the post on the parotts. You would not believe the horrible sqwaking those things make! But, it is sooooooo very cool. I took my grandson out there & he loved it!
I was reading about all the drama at your house. OH MY! Hope your burn is better. Glad your tree is gone & the bugs with it. And your daughter... she was indeed blessed that she was not hurt more after that. It could have been so bad.
And, by the way, I think you did a great job on your digital art. I am trying to learn to work with Photoshop Elements & having so much trouble. It would help if I could stay at it & not keep getting interupted. Have a great week.
Glad your week is going better. Love your card for the digitaltwotuesday challenge. Love how you can detail what you did to it. Seems I can never keep straight exactly what I do when I'm working on something. I work on it then cut so much it starts to become a blur. Great job on your first try at hosting, hope you do it again soon.
Oh and thank you so much for mentioning my little card on your post. I truly appreciate your kind comments.
Great job Sharon :-) Love the cards and here you were nervous about being a hostess! You are great! Wow, did you have a week..... so glad you are better (burns are the worst) and so glad your daughter is alright!
Hugs
