Inside of this box is MY treasure.
I made it just for ME!
"A Beautiful Life" is finished!
Box & all!
Tucked inside of the box lid is the picture of the lady in a corset that I did not get into the book but loved the print so I had to use it somewhere. On top of the lady is a feather from Sandy B. and the rest of the lovely pink velvet vintage ribbon. (Gosh, I hated to use the last piece.) Also I used the luscious feathers topped with a broach . Carole had sent me a baggie loaded with shoe clips and pins. I glued one broach on top of the other to give it more dimension. (Please keep Carole in your prayers. She needs our love and support at this difficult time.)
This is the top of the outside of the box.
What a fun project!
Inside this box are a few of my friends, (or a part of them at least). No one will love this box of goodies like I do because I know the meaning behind each and every detail. I thought about each person, each piece as a unit and how well they would blend together. And they DO work together so well!!
I am a happy girl tonight. (It doesn't take alot to impress me but this project does and will continue to do so for a long long time.) Thank you again, Heather and all of you who pleased my creative senses. You are such sweet people.

Sharon... your box is just beautiful... I just now signed up for the course.... Tom is going away for a couple days and I thought this would be a mini retreat for me to do while he is gone.... I think I may like to try to a christmas one to set out as decoration since I am going to downsize and really just use the best of my best Christmas belongings this year..... I will be on the search for a box ...... I will really be behind everyone but that is ok....

You did such a beautiful job on your box and journal....they're both stunning. I love the way you've used so many precious mememtos from special friends. Every detail is just gorgeous. I finished my journal, but just found a box, so am beginning to work on it.

OO lala!!! What a joy to surf over to your blog and have your lovely creations unfold before my feasting eyes. I LOVE altered art (collages) or whatever it is called. I have several pieces which I have acquired through ebay and antiques shops.
Thank you for the sweet comment you left at English Cottage in Georgia.

Sharon--thanks for the guestbook entry on my website! Actually I don't know how I missed your BEAUTIFUL art either!! Wow, I have been surfing your blog looking at all the lovely creations and the vintage images--I will be back!
Sharon ~ I have spent at least an hour perusing many of your posts and I am so impressed with you that I just signed up as your follower. I don't want to miss anything! Your journal and box are absolutely the most gorgeous ones I have ever seen - really! They are exactly my style. We think alike and love many of the same things, including the Lord. The instant I saw your dear grandfather's picture I knew he was a special, sweet man. On of my granfathers was also a traveling preacher and street preacher. Bless their hearts. Love your pumpkin story - God is so good....will pray for your friend who lost her Dad.
Come see me when you have a minute between journals and beading!

Sharon, Thank you for stopping by. That journal you saw is Heather's I used it as an advertisement for her workshop. I just signed up yesterday but, can't wait to start working on it. Yours is amazing!!!!! It is soooooooooooo special to think of each person & story behind all the items in the journal isn't it. I haven't even started yet but, I can tell in just thinking about it that the memories will flow! Thank you for sharing your treasure.

Your journals are beautiful and now and then you just have to make something for yourself to love and cherish! You have a beautiful blog, I just found you from your entry at Dawn's on the fairy images! Smiles, Cyndi
Sharon, your journal and box are just beautiful! You did such an amazing job of making it reflect "you"...my absolute favorite touch is the feather in the ladies hand from your granddaughter - so perfect! I can relate to the hours and hours of digging through stuff for just the right thing hehe, in fact I'm still doing it :). Hopefully I'll finish mine before the workshop is taking down!
Thanks for sharing your lovely work!
