Beading Away

Let me introduce my new friend,
Mimi/Hero
of
She wore this lovely necklace for the Southern Belle.
(She taught herself how to bead.)
She is a seamstress and embroider plus being absolutely gorgeous.  She made the outfit she is wearing with lovely embroidered cuffs and sleeves to match this beautiful necklace!  Incrediable!
Anyway she encouraged me to try the same pattern.

Here are my results....

As you can see I made mine in shades of rose and burgundy and made the rope in a variation of the bead colors.
The "clasp" catches right at the top of the purse.
I put a cotton ball inside with my favorite cologne
so I not only look good I smell good too!
Hero had sent me some acrylic flowers awhile back.
I have been wanting to use in a project so I finished this bracelet  tonight and wanted to share it with you also.
My name for it is "wooly worm" but
it actually looks like a caterpillar.
I added the lovely flowers to the center of it that Mimi had given me.  (See a couple of posts back.)
I added some gold glass leaves, some beautiful purple crystals in the center of the flowers and a large variety of sizes and textures of beads in shades of purple.
It was a fun piece to design and even more fun to finish.
Thank you so much, Hero, for your lovely gift of the flowers and for the idea of the purse necklace.
You are such a pleasure to know!

We were working on burning logs and limbs today so I am one tired puppy.  It was a gorgeous spring day with very little wind so we started burning around 10:00AM until 8:00PM.  We have a wooded lot and have not done any clean up in the woods for a couple of years so today was "the day".
It looks so much nicer, neater, cleaner.  (even the butterflies came by to say they approve!)
Spring has sprung here in Georgia and I am so blessed to have so many lovely flowers to enjoy.  God is so good to me!
Blessings to each and everyone today!
Sharon
p.s. again I want to thank Hero for her encouragement and her sweet spirit!

Another Creation (or two)

This week has truly been a blessing! After last week, about anything would be appreciated! When I got burned I could not wear a bra or a blouse so had to stick to bathing suit tops (strapless). It was NOT a pretty sight to behold. Because of the painful back I had to keep busy. I started to embroider. (I find this technique so relaxing and therapeutic.) I bought this lovely beveled crystal at an antique store and was just itching to make something with it. I started with the Ravoli in the center and began to build around the beautiful stone. I had a pre-conceived pattern of garnets that were rough cut flat and round.
Then I filled in the empty spots with size 11 & size 15 tiny beads. It took me over, (way over) 80 hours to complete the front of the bracelet. I added a mauve ultra suede backing and stitched the two panels together with a bead called a delica. Tonight I FINALLY finished it! Praise the Lord for patience and perseverance. (I heard a quote recently that describes my feelings...."I am SO OVER THAT"!!!) I think it turned out lovely? (I have seen these on Etsy for $250.00-$350.00 and I DO understand why they charge such a high price!)
Next I just wanted to do something easier on my brain. Meslissa figured out the pattern & came over to teach me how to do this herringbone snake design.
(I call it a snake because it truly feels like snake skin.) I made mine four beads wider then Melissa's but it was a pleasure to make. It is made with triangle colbalt blue beads and I added clear silver beads for an accent. Then when I got to the center I added Czech glass beads that just "happened" to be the same color. I closed it with a lovely rectangular button.
I wanted to show you how much wider and how much more work there is in the cuff as opposed to the "fun" snake design.
This one is so comfortable and will be great with blue jeans or casual wear.
Oh, yes, I wanted to tell you that I sold the Guardian Angel necklace to a lovely lady just down the road from me! I sent it out with a lot of regret but I am so glad that it is going to a good home. She is a lovely Christian lady & will appreciate all of the work involved. (I have told you that I get very attached to my pieces.)
God bless each and everyone of my bloggy friends. I love each one of you. If you have time would you please leave me a comment whether or not you like my newest creations? I bead just to hear from each one of you!

Revision on "Leaves on leaves"

This pattern is such a pleasure to make. There is no limit on how to rearrange the leaves. I made this out of tiny deep metallic purple delicas with rose gold delica accent beads. It is strung on garnets with the garnet beads incorporated into the leaf pattern. (Please, right click on the picture to see the details.) I just wanted to show you how the arrangement of beads and change of colors makes a whole new design.
Wow! Another week has come and gone! I can not believe how quickly time goes! Blessings to all, Sharon

Fringed Caged Beads

I still can not believe it is already 2009!!! Been busy with learning Facebook, beading and talking to my favorite girl, Beth Ann. She is over tonight because her sis is out on an official "DATE"! Can you believe I have a Grand daughter that is "officially" dating? Boy I feel old already!!! Anyway, I wanted to show you my latest project. This is certainly a necklace that makes a statement. When I write a note on a piece that is what the designer has named it and I want to keep track of the patterns. (Sorry for the filing projects too.) I hope it is not too distracting. I should start numbering the projects but that is too much detail for my brain. I don't know if I had told you but IF you might be interested in a piece then you can email me or leave a comment on my blog. ( You also can double click on the pictures to enlarge them for more details of the piece.) Another important detail is that I will custom make a piece in the colors of your choice unless a piece of antique jewelry is incorporated in a piece. I can not find a duplicate of an antique piece, (let alone be able to afford one). Just contact me to negotiate a price on any of my jewelry. Besides I would love to hear from anyone viewing my blog. Have a wonderful Sunday!
